The Consumer Action Handbook is free to consumers and is published by the United States General Services Administration. This Handbook has over 166 pages that feature general advice on steps to take when shopping for goods or services, along with warnings on what to watch out for when shopping for cars, credit and home improvements.
The Handbook also includes information on how to solve consumer problems, as well as addresses, telephone numbers, and websites where you can file consumer complaints with consumer organizations, corporations, trade associations, Better Business Bureaus and government agencies at the city, county, state and Federal level.
